it is just a clock.

tardiness betrayed
by green liquid crystal light
veiled by heavy lids

heavy crooked limbs
grasp her warmth under cover
found in quiet sighs

SHRILL SCREAMS OF PANIC
“wake!” … her voice sotto voce
muffled by kisses

defiant embrace
not ready to abandon
sleepy affections
